The Five Pillars of Islam

Salah is the spiritual heartbeat of a Muslim's day. Performed five times daily, it is a direct conversation with Allah, a moment to pause from worldly affairs and find peace, guidance, and spiritual nourishment. It involves physical postures, recitation of the Qur'an, and personal supplication.

"Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance." - Qur'an 20:14

Zakat is a revolutionary concept of social justice and wealth purification. It is an obligatory annual donation of 2.5% of one's savings to support the poor, needy, and other specified categories. Zakat fosters compassion, curbs greed, and ensures that wealth circulates within the community.

"Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase..." - Qur'an 9:103

Sawm is the act of fasting from dawn until dusk during the holy month of Ramadan. It is far more than abstaining from food and drink; it is a time for heightened spiritual discipline, self-reflection, empathy for the less fortunate, and increased devotion and prayer.

"O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous." - Qur'an 2:183

The Hajj is the ultimate spiritual journey, a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage to the Kaaba in Mecca for those who are physically and financially able. It is a powerful symbol of unity, where millions of Muslims from every corner of the globe gather as equals before God, shedding worldly distinctions.

"...And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way." - Qur'an 3:97
