The Shahada is the key that opens the door to Islam. It is the sincere testimony of faith, spoken with conviction. By saying it, you are attesting to the two fundamental beliefs of Islam.

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ

Ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Allah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasulu-Allah.

"I bear witness that there is no deity but God, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God."

Saying this with sincerity, ideally in the presence of other Muslims but not required, makes you a Muslim. Welcome to the family!

Wudu is a ritual ablution, a physical and spiritual cleansing performed before prayer. It prepares your mind and body to stand before God.

Wash Hands: Three times, up to the wrists.
Rinse Mouth: Three times.
Rinse Nose: Three times.
Wash Face: Three times, from hairline to chin.
Wash Arms: Three times, from fingertips to elbows (right then left).
Wipe Head: Once, with wet hands.
Wash Feet: Three times, up to the ankles (right then left).

Salah is the central pillar of Islam, a direct connection with God performed five times a day. As a beginner, the most important thing is to start. Learning the full prayer takes time and patience.
